A Bucket to Share
Oil on Canvas
Here Thompson portray's a vibrant village lifestyle of adequacy in its inadequacy, where the bucket is shared in different chores. The burnt surface of the bucket suggests it’s use for cooking stuff like pumpkins, fresh maize and the like in big traditional families as well as washing and fetching water for home use.
Here, the daughter is using it for bathing while the mother waits by the well to use it for fetching water home.
